Add calculated columns and values your team maintains
Choose between a live calculation, a fixed value and an editable starting value.
A useful Amazon report may need calculations or values that do not come directly from Amazon, such as a planning note, a fixed category, or a calculated business measure.
Configure an available custom column
- Open the sync's field picker and look under Custom for the column type you need.
- Add the column, then open it under your selected fields.
- Give it a clear column name and configure the options offered for that type.
- Finish the setup, review the overview, and confirm the sync.
Available options depend on the chosen column type. Check its description rather than assuming every column supports every behavior.
Keep a calculation connected to its inputs
For a calculated column, use Auto compute formula. Use Insert a variable to select the intended input columns instead of guessing which column a value belongs to. Include the required inputs in the sync and check a known example after saving.
When comparing sales, costs or inventory, confirm the input periods, currencies and row meaning first. A valid calculation can still answer the wrong question when its inputs describe different business scopes.
Choose values that stay fixed or remain editable
- Constant value fills a fixed value for the column rather than leaving it for manual entry.
- Initial value gives new rows a starting value; later manual edits in the spreadsheet persist.
- Calculate formula once converts a formula's result into a fixed value rather than keeping that formula result syncing.
Choose an initial value when teammates should maintain the value afterward. Choose an ongoing formula when the value should follow its inputs.
Keep outgoing edits deliberate
A custom calculation is not the same as submitting a change to Amazon. When a calculation feeds a supported Writeback column, inspect the resulting proposed value in the Writebacks review before sending it.
