Give teammates the right access
Understand Google spreadsheet sharing, Hopted admin membership, and collaborator usage.

There are three distinct kinds of access: your own Google access to a spreadsheet, Hopted's access to keep it synced, and membership in the Hopted account.
Share a spreadsheet with a teammate
Use Google Sheets Share to give the person the permission their task requires. A collaborator with editing access can help prepare values in Writeback cells. An admin of the Hopted account must review and submit those changes through Hopted.
If the person needs to manage Hopted settings or submit Writebacks, invite them as a Hopted admin as well.
Keep Hopted's spreadsheet access
During spreadsheet setup, Hopted shows the email address that needs Editor access. Keep that access in place for the linked spreadsheet. Removing it can interrupt imports and updates.
Inviting another admin does not replace this sharing step. If a spreadsheet reports missing access, follow Enable Hopted for a spreadsheet.
Review collaborator usage
Open Settings → Usage to see collaborators across Hopted-linked spreadsheets. Account admins are shown separately from billable spreadsheet collaborators. Review the listed spreadsheets when deciding who still needs access.
Capacity changes can include access-removal options. Read the confirmation carefully: removing spreadsheet collaborators can revoke their Google Drive access to the listed files.
Remove access in the right place
To remove Google file access, change the spreadsheet's sharing settings. To remove Hopted admin access, use Settings → Admins. Check both when a teammate leaves, because one does not automatically replace the other.
